Concrete is one rigid sheet, so when the ground moves underneath it, the slab cracks and there is no fixing it short of a tear-out. Interlocking pavers are individual units set on a flexible compacted base. They move with the ground instead of fighting it, they shed water through the joints instead of pooling, and a single settled paver lifts and resets in an afternoon. How we build a paver patio
The part you never see is the part that lasts. Our process puts the engineering first.
- Excavate and grade. We dig to the right depth and set a slope that carries water away from your home, not toward it.
- Compacted base. Layered and compacted crushed stone, with geotextile fabric where the soil calls for it, so the patio has a stable foundation.
- Bedding and edge restraints. A screeded sand-set bedding layer plus locked edge restraints keep pavers from spreading or shifting.
- Lay and cut. Pavers set in your chosen pattern, cut clean at the borders.
- Joint stabilization. Polymeric sand locks the joints against weeds, ants, and washout.
